Mary Jo has been involved with Irish Dancing and the Irish community for most of her life from dancing in the kitchen with her Irish parents to performances for the Pope and the Golden Gate Bridge Anniversary. Her students have won awards in Regional, National and World Championships. She has handed down her expertise to her children, students and grandchildren who are now involved in the teaching. Show dancing is one of her favorite venues - Dancing and live music together showing the best of Irish talent.

Patricia Feeney-Conefrey, TCRG



Tricia's very first St. Patrick's Day Parade was in her Mom's womb (born three weeks later)! Tricia continues the family tradition teaching beginner students to high-level champions. Her Grandmother, Hannah Murphy, and her Mother, Mary Jo, passed down the love of Irish Dance, and she is now enjoying passing this love on to her son, Michael. She has competed at Regional, National and World levels. One of the most important things that Tricia has gained from Irish Dancing is all of the life-long friendships she has made.

 

Patricia Naughton, TCRG


Paddy has grown up with the Murphy School! She began dancing at the age of 5 and her teacher was Mary Jo Feeney. An Open Champion, she has competed in numerous Regional, National and World Championships and on title-winning teams. She has also performed for various events including Pope John Paul II’s visit to Candlestick Park, Brendan Boyer’s Royal Irish Showband, and numerous San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festivals.

Paddy received her TCRG in 1997. Throughout her dancing career, her many achievements, experiences, and friendships, helped shaped her passion for Irish Dancing.

Paddy is married and has 2 daughters, Emily and Claire, who are both dancers with the Murphy-Comerford school.

Ellen O'Connor, TCRG



Ellen O'Connor grew up Irish Dancing with Mary Jo and won many Regional and National Championships. She danced with Brendan Boyer and The Royal Irish Showband in Las Vegas, Nevada. She also danced in an Irish Dancing segment with Tricia in the International Dance Extravaganza with Yackov Smirnoff in Branson, Missouri. Her favorite memories of Irish Dancing are the friendships and all the fun on through the St. Paddy's Day seasons! "Growing up dancing with Paddy and Tricia was the best. We've had some amazing traveling experiences thanks to Mary Jo."

Tony Comerford, TCRG, ADCRG



Tony Comerford began dancing when he was four years old, along with his sisters and brother in Birmingham, England. Together they went on to form the Holy Family School of Dance. Tony won Championships throughout England and placed in the top three at both the All Ireland and World Championships. He is an accomplished dancer, choreographer, and adjudicator of Irish Dance competition and most of all, a gifted teacher! The five most important things that Tony teaches through his dance are: increased physical skills, increased mental skills, a healthy competitive spirit, self esteem, and lasting friendships. Recently, the Murphy School of Irish Dance has partnered with Tony Comerford and are very excited about all of the future endeavors together.
